To ensure the safety of our service users, volunteers, customers and staff YMCA Newcastle are following the advice issued by the Government, NHS, local authorities and Public Health England to inform our strategy to deal with Coronavirus and COVID-19 over the following weeks and months. All of our services will be effected in some way.
Our management team our staying well informed with the developing situation and will be making decisions to ensure the safety of all who use or work with YMCA Newcastle. Our staff have been briefed with Government information and guidance and will be updated with any developments as they happen. Soap, hand sanitisers and tissues are available and information and guidance is displayed at all of our centres.
The following steps are being taken to keep our staff and young people safe;
Central Office
Our office based staff will be working remotely over the next few weeks and have access to anything they may need to support the smooth running of YMCA Newcastle. Our main office number may be unreachable at some times, if you need to contact us please email us at enquiries@ymcanewcastle.com stating your name, contact details, person you are trying to contact and the reason for your contact and the correct individual will contact you.
YMCA SPACE2…
We have made the difficult decision to close our City Centre open access facility until further notice. The Job and Apprenticeship Fair scheduled to take place at SPACE2… on 18th March 2020 will no longer take place. If you are a young person who would like to speak with a youth worker please email us at enquiries@ymcanewcastle.com stating your name and contact details and one of our youth workers will contact you.
YMCA Walker
YMCA Walker will remain open to closed groups. Youth Workers will be available for drop-ins but the number of permitted attendees will be limited. For more information please contact YMCA Walker on 0191 2624945.
YMCA Walker Park Cafe & Centre
Our cafe is open as usual. The following groups and sessions at YMCA Walker Park Cafe and Centre are cancelled until further notice; Young at Heart Club, Walker Park Baby and Toddler Group and Line Dancing Sessions. Please call the cafe on 0191 2653132 for more information.
Holly Hill Nursery
Our nursery will remain open as usual until we receive any new Government guidance. The team at Holly Hill Nursery have increased the hygiene and cleaning protocol, especially around areas that are commonly touched by the children in our care, to ensure their safety.
