We are looking for a skilled and experienced fundraiser to join our team at YMCA Newcastle.
YMCA Newcastle is a local, independent charity that has been working in our community for over 170 years. It is an exciting time for YMCA Newcastle. We have recently transitioned from a charity that works with young people to an organisation that supports our whole community, from toddlers through to older local residents. As we make our way out of the Covid-19 pandemic our vital work has never been so important.
Our mission is to provide the opportunities, resources and support so that our community and its young people can belong, contribute and thrive. To achieve our mission our Fundraising Officer secures £300,000 from charitable and statutory grants, trusts, foundations, national lottery and individual donations each year. Our team also generates £300,000 from our assets and trading.
We need a skilled and experienced individual to build and manage relationships with funders, donors and supporters, identify opportunities, write applications and complete monitoring returns. This is the perfect opportunity for someone looking for a new challenge.
This post reports to the Chief Executive Officer and is part of a small central support team that enables the operational team to deliver its charitable services to over 2,000 people each year.
Our working week is a 37.5 hour week with flexible hours working between our main office, operational sites and home working.
