What is digital youth work?
Digital Youth Work means using digital platforms to engage with young people. Social media and digital platforms are now a key part of young peoples lives and we want to use this digital space to help young people. Our goal is to provide unconditional support to young people in Newcastle. We’re adapting our work to support young people during social isolation. We’ll still run clubs, sessions, and provide information, guidance and support through private messaging. Digital Youth Work is an additional tool that allows us to provide content and activities for young people as well as still carry out essential 1:1 work.
Digital Youth Work Frequently Asked Questions
Below we have provided answers to some questions you may have. Please click to expand for more information.
Young people have the right not to have any information about you passed on to anyone outside the project (like your parents, teachers, social workers etc), without knowing about it and agreeing to it.
The only time this may be different, is if you tell us that you or someone else is in a dangerous situation and our telling someone else might prevent you or them from being harmed. If a worker felt that they had to pass on information without your permission, they would still inform you of what they were going to do.
What can you expect from our service?
