YMCA Summer Activities

A month full of varied fun!

This month we are sending a huge thanks to the Holiday Activities and Food programme (HAF) for funding an incredibly fun and enriching summer full of activities that will be running every week from July 21st until August 22nd. YMCA Newcastle is very proud to share that we are hosting a huge range of exciting activities that you (or your child) can take part in for free, as long as you are eligible for free school meals. With such a huge range, there is guaranteed to be something that every young person will enjoy – the list of activities is as follows:

Get Involved:

If you or your child wants to join in on any of the above activities, please contact siniece.hallway@ymcanewcastle.com.

Spaces are limited and subject to availability so it’s best to act quick, and don’t forget to let your friends know!

No Missing Out:

If, for any reason, you aren’t able to attend the sessions you were hoping to – don’t worry! On top of all of that, sessions will still be taking place at the centre at 592 Welbeck Road. The sessions are full of varied activities guided by our youth workers, open to everyone! Those activities are as follows:

Stay Updated!

Us at the YMCA Newcastle always have plenty going on, so if you want to stay updated make sure you check in with our monthly newsletters to hear about all the most important information first. Read our August Newsletter here.

A Huge Thanks to HAF!

None of these fantastic opportunities would have been possible if it wasn’t for the Holiday Activities and Food programme (HAF), so on behalf of everyone here at the YMCA, and all of the many young people that will be benefiting greatly from the activities: thank you!

“The holiday activities and food (HAF) programme provides healthy meals, enriching activities, and free childcare places to children from low-income families, benefiting their health, wellbeing and learning.

Since 2022, the HAF programme has provided 15.6 million HAF days to children and young people in this country. Across the 2023 to 2024 academic year, almost 5 million HAF days were provided during winter, Easter, and summer delivery.”
